Victor Wooten: Groove Workshop [2008] (REGION 1) (NTSC)
I was looking around for something different to add to my own bass playing, not to involve all the boring theory and science in most bass DVD's, I definitely found it here in Victor Wooten Groove Workshop. watching it was like being their live and it's funny too, I learned something in the first ten minutes, I read the music lesson and I was curious as to see the physical demonstrations from Vic's story it works so well!. I would definitely recommend this to any musician not just bass players, if you enjoyed the book THE Music Lesson get the DVD its awsome!, or get the DVD then enjoy the book! your choice.

So there you have it, perhaps everything you could want to observe on Victors' techniques, styles, his philosophy of music as a language, oh and his and giant thumb... If you have read the book 'The Music Lesson' then this can be seen as a physical incarnation of the messages contained within. Some ideas are or terminology discussed in the dvd are quite simple, others will present a challenge for even well seasoned bass players to follow, but, all in all a great offering from the man who has revolutionised the way some of us approach and play. The 10 elements of music discussed within the 5 and a half hours of material are well explained and the solo performances compelling to watch. Easy access menus help to find specific topics and lessons. A steal at 15 quid.
