5 out of 5 stars A musician's dream.   February 10, 2010

Apple's Logic Studio has been an essential tool for many musicians for years now. For a long time, Logic has been arguably the leading software package for MIDI composition and sequencing and in Logic 9, the audio processing features have received a welcome boost.

As a user of Logic 8, the killer feature in Logic 9 for me was the 'Flex Time' audio feature. It allows audio content to be stretched and squeezed in a non destructive way. Perfect for fixing a few misplaced snare hits in a drum recording! You can also quantize audio in the same way that you could previously with MIDI content.

If I'm honest, there is a lot that is completely unchanged from Logic 8. But Logic 8 was great, so there were only a handful of areas that needed much attention.

Logic 9 might seem like a big investment but there is a huge amount of content included. And for me the full fat 'Logic Studio' edition was worth the extra investment over 'Logic Express'. I recommend that you study the differences between the two carefully before you make your decision!

Logic is the best music production tool out there.
It is industry standard and yet so easy to understand and use.
This version comes bundled with lots of great loops and sample voices too.
Logic is simply fantastic.

If you are going for a Mac you will probably want this DAW. My advice would be to go for the Studio with all the loops etc but shop around as you can get it cheap if you search.

As for Logic Pro I love it. It grows on me more as I use it. Easy to get going on it but lots of features to explore. Forward integration from Garageband is handy and gets you up and running fast.

As a music technology student, I have never come across a programme such as this that is so easy to use. It is one of those programmes that is really complicated but you're still able to navigate yourself around the programme with ease. I did know what to expect before I purchased it as I went to the presentation evening by apple in London a few months ago. However, when I actually came to use the product, it still surprised me. I was also really happy to see Amazons low price tag. I think apple were selling the Studio version for almost £500. This is simply out of my league. However I caught a glimpse, that is was being sold for £199 in the used and new section. If you can find it at this price, a good buy!

5 out of 5 stars Simply all you will ever need!   September 6, 2010

I bought this pack for two reasons. (1) I was moving on from garageband (2) for its price that I paid. What a stunning package for the price. It contains everything that you will ever want from a studio. Ultrabeat (the drum package) is a simple package to use and very effective. There must be millions of different set ups you can have which has laid my guitar pedals and amps to the corner of the room gathering dust. Its easier than other packages to use and the more technical stuff is easily understandable with some of the manuals you can buy.

You will simply never require any other studio for your mac than this. With it comes all the jam packs (which sold individually would cost more that the whole studio itself).

Brilliant pack, If your thinking about getting it, stop thinking, just get it!!
